Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Up before the sun each day
Headlights through the dark
Friends bound for the trailhead
Eager for the start
Alum Cave and Grotto Falls
Clingmans Dome up high
Mountain ridges, blue on blue
Merging with the sky

[Chorus]
There's always something new
That words can't quite explain
One more glimpse of You, Lord
And we're reminded once again
We've only seen the edges
Of the wonders that You do
Beyond the things we came to see
You show us something new

[Verse 2]
Gathered 'round a meal each night
Trading tales and smiles
Friends stayed at the table
Talking through the miles
Jokes and tears and stories shared
Hearts were opened wide
Growing closer, day by day
Walking side by side

[Chorus]
There's always something new
That words can't quite explain
One more glimpse of You, Lord
And we're reminded once again
We've only seen the edges
Of the wonders that You do
Beyond the things we came to see
You show us something new

[Bridge]
Then one night we shared our stories
Of the lives that Jesus changed
Two said, "We want to follow Him"
We bowed our heads and prayed
Not just memories from the mountains
Not just pictures of the view
The old was gone, new life had come
We saw what only You could do

[Chorus]
There's always something new
That words can't quite explain
One more glimpse of You, Lord
And we're reminded once again
We've only seen the edges
Of the wonders that You do
Beyond the things we came to see
You show us something new

[Outro]
The old is gone, new life is here
In You, all things are new
